Welcome to Volunteer Coach

Hi, I’m Coach Brian, and welcome to Volunteer Coach! I’ve been a volunteer youth baseball coach for years now, both for rec and travel/tournament teams.

These brief years when we have the privilege of coaching our kids are the most important of our lives. Coaching youth sports is a huge time commitment, and we have the opportunity to make a tremendous difference in the lives of a lot of young people. We want to make the most of this time.

Over the years, I've learned a lot about running a team as a parent volunteer that I wish someone had taught me back when I started. So that's what Volunteer Coach is all about: sharing everything I can to help you be the most effective coach possible. We'll talk about partnering with your players' families, age-appropriate motivation strategies, leveraging the resources available to your league, technology that can help, and anything else you all suggest.
